We're a social group of people that are interested in getting together once a month to chat about honeybees, share books and ideas about honey, community, and wax! This is a brand new group to get people excited about urban beekeeping and to increase the honeybee population in San Francisco and the entire Bay Area. Right now honeybees are threatened by disease and "colony collapse disorder", we need to learn more about bees and how to help them, and make sure they are here to pollinate the f …
Shanon Dean and Rebecca Miller are the original duo behind the 30 Something Dames. We’re just a couple of young crafty, thrifty and adventurous ladies. Shanon puts “Suzy Homemaker” to shame and Rebecca is often referred to as “Becky Crocker”. Shanon has also started an Urban Homestead with her husband and they have 27 laying chickens, 20 meat chickens, rabbits, and well on their way to getting goats, muscovy ducks, and bees. There are 34 fruit trees, veggie gardens galore and composting bin …
We have our first event coming up to improve a pathway in Oakland on Sunday, May 20th. On Saturday, April 28th, we did an Oakland Pathways Walk. We hope to fill Oakland's need to improve the city's many hidden pathways and stairways. At first we will remove …

The group has become emblematic of positive change in challenged urban settings, and ill …
